Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Tales from the Void ("the Platform"). By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or submitting content to Tales from the Void, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

2. User Accounts

• You must authenticate using Google OAuth to use submission features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your contact email up to date.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Story Submissions & Content Ownership

• Your Ownership: You retain full copyright ownership of all original stories you submit.
• License Grant: By submitting a story, you grant Tales from the Void a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to read, evaluate, and (if selected) adapt your story into a game.
• Adaptation Rights: If your story is selected for game production, we will contact you to formalize an adaptation agreement. No game will be produced without your explicit consent.
• No Plagiarism: You confirm that all submitted content is your own original work and does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights.
• Prohibited Content: You may not submit content that glorifies real-world violence, is defamatory, sexually exploitative, or violates any applicable law.

4. Submission Rounds

• Each round accepts a finite number of story slots. Submissions are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis during the Submission Phase.
• Every user is allocated 1 free story submission per round by default. Additional submissions can be purchased.
• Unused free submissions do not carry over to the next round. Purchased extra uploads do carry over.
• We do not guarantee that any free submission will be selected for game production.

5. Payments & Refunds

• All payments are processed securely by DodoPayments. We do not store payment card information.
• Story Pack ($3): Grants 1 additional story submission slot. This is a one-time, non-refundable charge. The slot itself is the product.
• Fast Track ($300): Guarantees your story enters our production pipeline with priority. Due to the immediate commitment of development resources, Fast Track purchases are non-refundable once production has begun (within 24 hours of purchase).
• If production has not yet started, Fast Track refund requests within 24 hours of purchase will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

6. Fast Track Production

• Fast Track guarantees game production within approximately 2 weeks, subject to mutual agreement on story scope.
• The final game remains the intellectual property of Tales from the Void, with the author credited as the original story creator.
• Revenue share arrangements are formalized in a separate written agreement at the start of production.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Attempt to circumvent submission limits or payment systems.
• Submit automated or spam content.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Tales from the Void is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform or that all submitted stories will be reviewed within any specific timeframe.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tales from the Void shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of revenue or data.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.

11. Governing Law
